Our team has just delivered and installed 4 person hot tub with two jets, gas heater, 2 speed pump, electronic sanitazation – Ionizer and Ozonator and 1.8m long barrel sauna with window at the back wall. After installing barrel sauna and hot tub: We’ve been asked by customers to design and build equipment enclosure with stairs for the tub. With this particular project, we decided to make it on site as we go. Since the gas heater is positioned closer to the tub, the enclosure cannot be made square. Last week we started with outlining framework for the enclosure and stairs: The enclosure frame base and posts are all supplied in High grade Canadian Western Red Cedar (with inside frame boards from treated pine to reinforce the structure): From this point Sydney weather was not on our side. It took us few extra days to finish the job and yesterday we finally signed it off: If you are after a sauna or hot tub now is the good time to place your order and get $950 discount for delivery in the next year. We are in the process of manufacturing one of our big 2.1m diameter tub and as per customer request to make it even more “spacey”, we’ve come up with new octagonal bench arrangement instead of our standard hexagonal design: As you can see, with hexagonal setup there’s less space in the middle of the tub where with octagonal setting there’s plenty of room. This is an option which is available now and cost extra $450 to cover the cost of extra supports and benches. We’ve taken few pictures from the 2.1m diameter tub test fitting in our factory which we are happy to share with you: We don’t put top ring during the test fit since two rings are enough to make final touches to the tub (we do supply 3d ring though 🙂 ): In case you are wondering why there are so many holes in the tub – those are for jets, skimmer, suction and ozonator assemblies.
We’ve just assembled and installed Q-series 1.6m diameter tub with electronic sanitazation, custom made stairs and enclosure in West Ryde – one of the Sydney’s suburbs. It all started by visiting site and checking available space. Below is a picture on how the place looked before the installation: After inspecting the site, we’ve designed a proposed plan for the tub with custom built steps and enclosure: Once everything has been confirmed and we’ve got a “GO” from the customer, we started production. In 4 weeks tub was test fitted at the factory and we were ready for install. While normal people were relaxing and enjoying their week-end, Ukko Saunas team was on site making it all happen for the customer :). And finally tub is done. Water is warm and bubbles are tempting us to get in:
We’ve just came back from Canberra where we’ve installed 1.6m diameter Enviro (gas heated) tub and log sauna.
Tub is sunk under the deck for about 500mm and overall tub height with joists under the floor is 1240mm. (Deck is still under construction)All equipment with Davey gas heater, time switch with integrated AMP plug for 2 speed pump (Hi/Lo and Off/Off switch) and Ozonator was mounted outside the room… This is how it all looked in the earlier design stages that we’ve helped with: And below are the actual stairs built by Ukko Saunas on site: The top boards of the tub enclosure were cut out of European thermo-treated Aspen (15mm thick) which is nicely blended in to the Canadian Western Red Cedar framework. European Aspen is stronger and harder wood comparing to Cedar which makes it a perfect alternative for an enclosure. Ukko log sauna was custom built on site in to an existing room with small space for towels and robes. This sauna was supplied with 6.0kW SAWO sauna heater with remote digital controls, light fittings, bench skirting, back rests, head rests, bucket ladle, thermometer and sand timer.
